During August the heavy vehicle traffic in Italy is totally stopped for a couple of weeks and there are also exceptions in France, Spain and Portugal.
This year, tourist traffic during the holiday season will presumably be lower than normal and the impact on i.a. congestions will be smaller. However, it is impossible to predict the tourist movement in late summer. It is possible, that queues on motorways and ferries will be seen in Europe in August as usual.
During the holiday season DSV do not operate as usual. However, we do our best to serve you with special arrangements, if required. About these special arrangements, please, contact our Customer Service Team in good time before the required transport date.

The last loading day from terminal in Finland before the holiday season is Friday 31 July to Southern Italy (postal codes 00-09 & 50-99) and Friday4 August to Northern Italy (postal codes 10-49). The first loading day from terminal in Finland after the holiday season is Friday 21 August.

Holiday season in Southern Europe cause delays
Peak of the holiday season in France, Spain and Portugal is during weeks 33-34. Domestic distributions will suffer from driving restrictions, and high traffic congestion. Especially coastal villages and tourist areas are challenging. We operate according to normal schedules during weeks 33-34 but delays are possible when transporting from/ to France, Spain and Portugal.
